God Bless Skip and both families.

The wife is in County jail charged with murder and no bond. She apparently shot her husband in the back with a rifle or shotgun as he was walking away.

she is out on bond as of last night,,,,and back in the same house she killed him in,,,,wtf,,,,

I haven't seen Skipper since high school, but remember him as a really great guy. My prayers are with his family. God bless.

The outer shell of people can be very deceiving. Many have a very dark inside that most are unaware of. I guess abuser can show themselves as "he was a really great guy and a friend" look in the mirror and ask yourself "Did I really know him through and through". Did you know he was abusive physically and emotionally? Anyone who knows this kind of abuse can also tell you the emotional abuse is often the worse kind of abuse. His drinking problem did not help matters. All I ask is get your facts and don't be so quick to judge. This is a tragedy for all concerned. Act like humans not animals have compassion and be mad is that is what you are feeling but spewing stuff you have no clue about helps no one. Say a prayer for all involved for all of you will have judgement day also.

How dare you slander a man who can not defend himself. I have known him since middle school, not a mean bone in his body. I suspect HER family member or herself posted the above comment about Skip. RIP skip- Loved by all in El Paso Texas. Not one person in ep tx will say one bad word about him- Shot in the back does not constitute defense or abuse, it says he was walking away. Let the fact speak, stop with the stories of abuse. Married 28 yrs, abused? I think not.

His drinking problem??? Wow ok, because she was the princess of that house, know him??? No need too, never a police report??? Oh abuse!!! Ok well here in the animal kingdom we believe in god and no person should take another's life, but hey I understand god is only for those of us who need not excuse a murder, premeditated murder!!
Posted by Laurat at 9/10/2013 6:52:29 PM

SuziQ

You are exactly right. Skip was liked wherever he went. And you couldn't have asked for a better human being. He is truly one of those that would do whatever he could to help anyone he encountered. Sure, we all have faults, but he was not abusive. His biggest fault was loving this woman and not seeing the writing on the wall that others could see; Namely, that she was the abuser, and ultimately his murderer. She shot him in the back. There is NO defending that, period.
Posted by YouKnowWho at 9/10/2013 8:07:11 PM

I love you Skip.

YouKnowWho:
Exactly. If you are in El Paso, there will be a memorial tribute in Skips honor at the three pints pub in the NE on Kenworthy/MLK. If he was such an "abuser" or the man that some are trying to portray him as, then he would not be loved by so many. There would be those who claim he was a jerk, ass, etc. SOOO not the case. NOthing but love coming out of EPTX for him. As soon as it was known, graduating classes from 84-88 (if not more) chimed in and were in disbelief and heartbroken. All I know is that he was too good of a person to be taken out like that. I sincerely hope justice will be served. We all know from the Arias trial, the thing to do is to cry abuse. Crazy women, why can't they just leave instead of ruining so many lives and cause so much pain, all because of their selfishness. No one knows what transpired that night, but no one deserves to be shot, especially in the back. Disgusted.
Posted by suziq at 9/11/2013 9:56:34 AM

The memorial will be this Friday. sorry, forgot to add the date.
Posted by suziq at 9/11/2013 4:07:45 PM

Thanks Suziq, but I'm close to Galveston. Hopefully more of Skip's old friends may see this and attend. I'm sure he'd want it to be at a pub! :) I'll be at the visitation tomorrow though.
Posted by YouKnowWho at 9/11/2013 10:42:23 PM

We will miss you all Skip, I have known you for the past 18 years and you have been like an uncle to me and a best friend to my dad. As for the abuse, anyone who would make a claim like that under a fake name on several websites in defense of someone that shot a good man in the back is obviously a coward and will never be taken seriously. Go crawl in a hole with ------ and bury yourself alive.
Posted by SII at 9/12/2013 9:43:15 AM

If he was so abusive, which I doubt, she should have left him. Murder is not an answer. RIP Skip.
Posted by RobertE at 9/14/2013 8:22:23 AM

I knew Skip in a professional capacity he will be greatly missed. I always enjoyed speaking with him. He was one of the few guys at Enterorise, that when decisions needed to be made, I could depend on.

Rip skip .. just heard about ur death this morning.. i was thinking to give u a call last couple of weeks.. u were such a good friendly soul...
Posted by mo at 6/3/2014 3:15:53 PM

Wow. I just found out about Skip's passing yesterday. I am so sad to hear this. I was with him in the early 90's when he was in the Navy. The Skip I knew was a sweet, loving man and I find it hard to believe that he had an abusive bone in his body. The last time I spoke with him was 5 or 6 years ago. I truly am sorry that we lost touch with each other and now I won't get the chance to talk with him again. I hope you rest in peace Skip and I hope we bump into each other in Heaven some day when it is my turn to leave this earth. My heart goes out to Skip's family. Even though it is almost a year since his death, that kind of pain never goes away. Thoughts and prayers to all of you. It sickens me that this is the way Skip left this earth. He did not deserve this.
